I am a direct descendant of the owners of Linwood Plantation in Louisiana who connected a year ago with a descendant of one of the slaves at Linwood. We corresponded for a year, exchanging documents and information about our respective families. We met in person over Memorial Day weekend 2010 in what was an emotionally powerful experience for both of us.
